Long before working at the Library, Sandra Hobbs was a young reader herself, captivated by Canadian children’s stories. Today, as a Children’s Programs and Public Service Assistant at OPL, she brings that same passion to her work, sharing book recommendations that spark the love and joy of reading in young readers.
“My all-time favorite Canadian children’s book author is Gordon Korman. I've been reading his books since middle school, and he never fails to delight,” shares Sandra.
Just like Sandra, we’re passionate about sparking curiosity in young readers. From April 26 to May 2, the Library celebrates Canadian Children’s Book Week with curated displays of Canadian children’s books in all branches.
Find inspiration in OPL’s Canadian children’s collection and Sandra’s top picks in English and French, and dive into stories that spark curiosity, connection, and imagination.
