Ottawa Public Library is taking part in Welcoming Ottawa Week (WOW), the annual celebration taking place from June 22 to 30 that features activities designed to help newcomers feel welcome, informed, and connected.
During WOW, OPL invites newcomers to discover the many free services, programs, and resources available to support their settlement journey and help them feel at home in Ottawa.
“OPL was one my initial connections to Ottawa when I arrived in Canada,” says Javier Clavelo-Robinson, Community Development Coordinator with the City of Ottawa’s Community and Social Services Department. “As I moved to serve newcomers, the Library has been instrumental in accessing so many free resources and feeling connected to their new home...”
“Beyond books, there is a lot more newcomers can benefit from in our local libraries. I look forward to seeing them continue to enjoy such an important space in our community.” adds Javier.
