Something exciting is on the horizon — and you could be part of it!

As Ottawa Public Library (OPL) prepares for the grand opening of Ādisōke, our new Central branch opening in 2026, we’re launching one of our largest hiring campaigns ever. We’re looking for 25 new team members to join us in welcoming and inspiring our community every day.

Opportunities Available

We’re hiring for two front-line roles:

  • Public Service Assistants (PSAs)

  • Children’s Programs and Public Service Assistants (CPPSAs)

These are unionized positions with health benefits, offering a mix of daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. But more than that, these are opportunities to serve, connect, and make a difference in the lives of Ottawa residents.

Applications are now open at Jobs at Ottawa Public Library | Ottawa Public Library.

At OPL, our people are our greatest strength. Every day, our team members welcome, help, and inspire thousands across our city — and we want our newest hires to reflect the diverse languages, cultures, and experiences that make Ottawa unique.

Meet Us in Person

Curious about what it’s like to work at OPL? Between October 25 and November 1, we’re hosting a series of pop-up information sessions at branches across the city. Stop by, meet our team, and learn more about these exciting roles! For more information visit our Programs and Events page.
