Chromebooks are lightweight, user-friendly laptops that make technology accessible to everyone. With their simple setup and intuitive interface, anyone can use them with ease. Chromebooks boot up in seconds, and with automatic updates you get the latest software without interruption. Privacy and security are prioritized, as all saved files and data are wiped after a client logs off.

There are two different types of Chromebooks available:

Chromebooks: Long-term loans

Chromebooks available for long-term loan are non-requestable and can be checked out for up to 90 days, with no renewals. They must be returned in full to library staff at the same branch where they were checked out. They must be returned during open hours and may not be left in the book drop.

Each Chromebook comes with a bag, a mouse and a charging cord.

Chromebooks: In-branch use

Clients can checkout and use an in-branch Chromebook for 3 hours per day with a valid library card.

To access the internet at a branch, you can connect to the public wireless network named oplbpo-1. After connecting to this network, you will be prompted to enter your library card number and PIN. In addition to the public wireless network, you can connect (where available) to OPL-BPO Hotspot; password: opl-bpo!.
