Is your child naturally curious about science, technology, engineering, or math? Don’t let summer break pause their passion! The Ottawa Public Library’s free STEM programs are a great way for kids to stay engaged, explore new interests, and have a blast—without extra costs.
This summer, even more hands-on STEM activities have been added to the Library’s lineup of children’s programs. Designed for ages 3 to 13, these activities offer fun and inspiration close to home—right at your local branch!
Here’s what kids can look forward to:
- STEMgineers Builders: Build chain reactions, construct with Magna-Tiles, and dive into other exciting engineering challenges.
- Math Mastery: Play with balance scales, tangrams, and other tools that bring math concepts to life.
- Coding with BEE-Bots: Learn basic coding skills using Bee-Bots and other beginner-friendly tools and games.
- mBot Adventures: Get to know mBot—a fun, programmable robot—and learn how to program it!
- Backyard Science: Explore the science of aerodynamics by experimenting with kites—then gather natural materials and design their very own to take flight!
Take a look through all the fun activities and pick the ones your kids will be most excited to try!
Some activities need you to sign up ahead of time—so keep that library card handy while you check out what’s happening at your local branch!
