Next Stop: Your Library – With OC Transpo’s New Bus Network

Big changes are coming to how you get around Ottawa — and that includes your ride to the library!

Starting Sunday, April 27, OC Transpo is rolling out its redesigned bus network as part of the New Ways to Bus initiative. Whether you're heading to your local library branch for a book club, storytime, or a quiet afternoon of reading, these changes may affect your usual route.

What’s Changing?

  • Bus routes and schedules across the city are being updated. Even if your regular route to the library stays the same, the departure time might not — so it’s worth a quick look.

  • Every OPL branch currently served by OC Transpo will continue to have bus service, but the route number or schedule may be different.

  • Final schedules are now available on the OC Transpo Travel Planner, so you can plan your visit with confidence.

Why These Changes?

OC Transpo’s updated network reflects how people move around Ottawa today. The new system focuses on:

  • More frequent buses

  • Better neighbourhood connections

  • Stronger links to O-Train Lines 1 and 2

  • Reliable routes to major destinations — like your local library

It’s all about helping riders get where they need to go faster, more efficiently, and with fewer transfers.
